With the recent Covid-19 pandemic, a lot of people have spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 at home. While things have opened up in many parts of the world, there is still a risk and some people might not be comfortable doing things they might have in the past.
For example, whereas people may have celebrated a birthday or graduation in public, many are electing to have stay-at-home celebrations instead. It is not only safer, but also more affordable and easier to plan, too.
Thankfully, just because you are having a celebration at home doesn’t mean it has to be any less fun, special or enjoyable. With that in mind, let’s go over a few ideas for stay-at-home celebrations that can still be a good time for everyone involved.
Make Gift Deliveries
If you want to experience some aspects of a party without a large public gathering, doing some gift deliveries can be a good idea. It gives everyone a chance to give a gift, without all having to be together at the same time. These gifts can be anything from celebration flowers, to delicious treats and everything in between.
This can be done by simply mailing gifts and opening for your friends or family on Skype/Zoom, or even having a parade of friends come by and deliver them. Each car can pull up, leave you a gift and chat for a minute or two or offer congratulations for the birthday, graduation or whatever the celebration is for.
Have a Netflix Party
A fun way to celebrate and have some fun with friends without having to go anywhere is to have a Netflix Party. Everyone loves to have a movie marathon with their friends, and now you don’t even need to be in person to do it. The key to being able to do this is the Netflix Party extension on Chrome.
This allows you to sync your screens with your friends, to ensure you guys are all watching the exact same thing at the same time. The extension also comes with a chat option so you guys can converse while watching the movie. It is the next-best-thing to watching movies with your friends or family on the couch.
Play Some Board Games
If you still want to get together with a few people, but simply want to celebrate at home with something casual, what better way than with some board games? They can be a ton of fun, and there are many great ones to choose from. No matter what kind of mood you and the rest of your group are in, there is a board game that can work for you.
Some have everyone compete against one another, while others may have them work together to reach a common goal. A game might require quick thinking, while another might force people to come up with a strong long-term strategy. They also range from being incredibly easy to pick up and play for the first time, to ones that require a lot more work to master.
Have a Zoom/Skype Call Party
Few things have taken off in popularity more since the start of the pandemic than video conferencing and chat apps like Zoom and Skype. They are great for holding virtual conversations (personally or professionally) no matter where you are in the world.
These types of video chats are a great way to still have a celebration, without having to go out and meet up in person. This allows you to see all of your friends, family members and loved ones, right from the comfort of your home without having to clean up and host a whole party.
There are even virtual games you can play with one another at the same time, if you want to do more than just chat. As long as someone has a computer, tablet or phone, there is a good chance they can join in on the video chat, as well.
While everyone loves a good and large in-person celebration, these four ideas are great for those times you’d rather celebrate at home in a more safe and casual setting.
