Do you ever wish that you could avoid doing the lawn? There are many benefits of a robot lawn mower, lets have a look at them and see if its worth buying one.
Kind to the environment
Because robot lawn mowers only run on electricity, they are much kinder on the environment, they need much less energy than a traditional lawn mower.
Not to mention they are much quieter; the louder models are about the same sound level as your uncle that speaks too loudly all the time for some reason. The quieter ones are about the same noise level as having a conversation with a friend. Either way much better than a classic lawn mower.
The UK and other countries are even introducing robotic mowers in public parks.
Healthier and more attractive lawn
One of the keys to having a great looking lawn is to mow it a lot. We do not mean every couple of hours but when the lawn is growing well in spring it should be 2-3 times a week for the best results.
But who has time for that? Well your dedicated robot grass cutter does… Some of them can even check the weather so that they only cut in conditions that are good for cutting. On top of that some of them even have rain sensors so that even when they are on the job, they will come back in at the first sign of rain.
Cut your lawn any time and from anywhere
A robot lawn mower does not need to cut your lawn on a Saturday morning just after it has finished breakfast. It can do it any time of the day. The robot does not care if the sun is out or not.
The great thing about his is that the robot is quiet enough that it can mow the lawn in the middle of the night for you. That way you will never even see it doing the job you will always just have a perfect lawn.
If you like to go on holidays for any period, maybe a few weeks in summer, they you have probably thought about how the lawn is going to go crazy while you are away. Its always a major job cutting grass that is 1 foot high and then dealing with the clippings is a pain.
Thankfully, your trusts robot mower does not need to go on holidays. I mean you can bring him along if you like but I think he would prefer to stay home close to his charging station. This just means that the robot lawn mower will keep going while you are away. If you get one with Wi-Fi, you can even check up on it remotely.
Little Maintenance and No Fuel
As Robot Mowers only use electricity, they just have simple electric motors rather than large heavy petrol motors that take much more maintenance. This means no oiling, no fighting to get the mower started for 20 minutes, no fuel or anything else like that.
The only thing you will need to do is check that the blades are sharp from time to time, and with some models of a robot lawn mower you only need to change the blades once a year.
Ok they are amazing, so what is the price of robot lawn mower?
So, this is where you will need to think ahead a bit. Robot mowers are usually more expensive than a traditional petrol lawn mower. But there is more to this than just the upfront cost.
Firstly, you need to think about the amount of time and effort it will save you. Leaving you to do what you want on a Saturday rather than cutting the grass.
Secondly, the running costs of a robot lawn mower are much lower than a petrol mower. Fuel and servicing for a mower is not that cheap and they are costs that do not exist with a robot mower.
Also, the blades are cheaper so you will win on that one too.
Conclusion; Should you buy a Robot Lawn mower?
Well if you are in the market for a new lawn mower then you should consider it. There is a reason that robot mowers are quickly becoming much more popular for all sizes of lawns from a tiny lawn of a town house to an entire golf course.
If you already have a mower then maybe not but then again think about the benefits of a robot lawn mower and the amount of time it will save you over the next few years.
